The founding fathers as well as every wise man in history has lived his life by the teachings of the bible (Black Hussein Obama lives his life by the KORAN). Look, nobody's sure where all of this shit came from, but there's a real debate here. Intelligent design is every bit as valid a theory as Evolution, and I'm glad Palin and McCain have the foresight to give the good book back the time it deserves in schools.

I'm not a creationist. i think evolutionary theory is about as good as we have, in terms of science, at this point in the effort to explain the development of life on earth. That said, there is nothing wrong about teaching religion in schools. My goodness. How can one know history without knowing religion? Taking time during social studies to explain the arguments over evolution, creationism and intelligent design makes the kids well rounded and prepared for the world. No different than teaching about the reformation and the Counter Reformation. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

We have been teaching sex ed in schools since the 1970's. At the same time, illegitimacy has steadily risen, STD's amongst the youth have shot up and the amount of reckless fornication amongst teens has risen to the highest levels in our history. At the same time, we have also been handing out birth control like candy. The biggest purchaser of birth control is government. Incredibly, faced with this problem we hear nothing but a cry for more of the same. I don't think the solution can be found in the schools. This is a cultural phenomenon. But, I know teaching sex and handing out rubbers ain't working. Why not give abstinence education a whirl. It can't be worse. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day.
